– Wisconsin Hunting Lodge –
[ a youthful retreat ]
When our client acquired an old family retreat in the north woods, he asked us to help him make it his own. Inspired by our client's passion for hunting and love of entertaining, we reworked the space plan and gave the house a fresh, masculine sensibility. We had the pine logs on the walls and ceiling buffed and polished to remove the discolored lacquer and replaced the yellow pine floors with rich, dark, reclaimed wood floors and earthy stone tiles. In classic Adirondack lodge style, we created an intriguing view from the foyer to the dining area by repurposing a set of old leaded glass doors. Throughout the house, we added wrought iron chandeliers and wall sconces, comfortable furniture, antiques, art and rugs to make the home feel both rustic and elegant.
